This organizations mission is to assist with and promote the art and science of medicine and the betterment of public health.

Health is a big priority for a lot of people, so finding a website that can assist with the understanding and embraces the need for change is critical to the success of health care in a patient focused delivery system.

National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI)

This website is a useful national resource for molecular biology information, NCBI's mission is to develop new information technologies to aid in the understanding of fundamental molecular and genetic processes that control health and disease. (stated by the website) The following is a list of their responsibilities also taken from there website:

  • conducts research on fundamental biomedical problems at the molecular level using mathematical and computational methods
  • maintains collaborations with several NIH institutes, academia, industry, and other governmental agencies
  • fosters scientific communication by sponsoring meetings, workshops, and lecture series
  • supports training on basic and applied research in computational biology for postdoctoral fellows through the NIH Intramural Research Program

    The National Uniform Claim Committee (NUCC) is a voluntary organization that replaced the Uniform Claim Form Task Force in 1995.  The committee was created to develop a standardized data set for use by the non-institutional health care community to transmit claim and encounter information to and from all third-party payers. It is chaired by the American Medical Association (AMA), with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as a critical partner.
